Hsing Yi Chuan

IMG_0165.jpeg

Hsing Yi can be roughly translated as 'mind and body' or 'form and intent' and its place in the White Cloud syllabus is to teach students that purely physical training is not enough, that to overcome an adversary they must focus their mind on nothing else.

The Five Element forms are taught first and though they are simple in form to observe it is what is happening inside the practitioner that is important here.

5 Elements Linking Form

The 5 Elements of Hsing Yi:

- Pi Chuan (splitting fist)

- Peng Chuan (crushing fist)

- Zuan Chuan (drilling fist)

- Pao Chuan (pounding fist)

- Heng Chuan (crossing fist)

Are taught separately at first but then linked together in the form shown here.
